The Exploring Computer Science (ECS) Fellowship is a three-year (including this year!) program designed to develop teacher leadership within high schools and communities through computer science (CS) advocacy. |
In your first year as an ECS Fellow, you will advocate for CS instruction in your school and become an advocate for CS experiences in your community through activities—like hosting an Hour Of Code or an after school CS club. You will also work with your school leaders to ensure that ECS will be offered the following year. During the summer between your first and second year, you will participate in a five-day professional development that will prepare you to create a highly engaging CS experience for your students. In your second and third year as an ECS Fellow, you will teach the ECS curriculum. In your third year as a fellow and beyond, you will have the opportunity to become an ECS Professional Development Facilitator. |
The ECS curriculum consists of six rigorous, engaging, and accessible units of study. Topics featured include: Human Computer Interaction, Problem Solving, Web Design, Programming, Data Analysis, and Robotics.
